Transparent & Trustworthy Puppy Purchase Policies.
At Rocky Ridge Gundogs , we strive to make the puppy adoption process transparent, secure, and stress-free for both our puppies and their future families. Below, you’ll find our detailed policies on deposits, refunds, and returns to ensure clarity and peace of mind.
Puppy Deposits: Securing Your GSP Puppy
Why Do We Require a Deposit?
A deposit ensures that your chosen puppy is officially reserved for you while we continue their care, socialization, and vet visits. It also helps us maintain a fair waiting list and prevents multiple families from inquiring about the same puppy.
Deposit Amount & Payment Methods
Refundable deposit: (varies by litter)
Accepted payment methods: Secure online payment Apple Cash, Zelle, Venmo.
Deposit holds your puppy until pickup/delivery (remaining balance due before pick-up or delivery)
What Happens After Paying a Deposit?
You’ll receive a puppy reservation contract via email.
We’ll provide weekly photo/video updates of your puppy’s growth.
Final payment is due before pickup or shipping (payment plans available upon approval).
⚠️ Important Deposit Rules:
Deposits are refundable but may be transferred once to another available puppy within 12 months.
If the puppy becomes unavailable due to health or breeder issues, your deposit will be fully refunded.
Refund Policy: Protecting Your Investment
When Can I Get a Refund?
We offer refunds only in these rare cases:
✔ Breeder cancellation ; If we cannot provide the puppy you reserved.
✔ Failed health check ; If our vet finds an undisclosed issue before delivery.
✔ Genetic health guarantee claim ; If a covered condition is diagnosed within the warranty period.
Non-Refundable Situations:
Allergies or landlord/housing issues
Behavioral concerns (we provide training support instead)
How Refunds Are Processed
Refunds are issued via the original payment method within 24 hours.
For health-related refunds, a vet certification is required.
Puppy Returns & Rehoming Policy
Can I Return My GSP After Adoption?
Yes, but with conditions:
We require that the puppy be returned to us, no private rehoming allowed.
Returns must happen within 14 days for a full refund (minus deposit & care fees).
After 14 days, no refunds are given, but we will take the puppy back to ensure their safety.
Why We Don’t Allow Private Rehoming
To protect our puppies from unstable homes, or shelters, our contract legally requires that any GSP from us must be returned to our care if you can no longer keep them.
Our Rehoming Process
Contact us immediately if you need to surrender your dog.
We arrange safe transport (you cover costs if applicable).
We evaluate the dog’s health/temperament before placing them in a new home.
🔹
Your puppy is covered by our 2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee, which protects against life-threatening hereditary conditions. If a genetic issue is confirmed by a licensed veterinarian, we will provide a replacement puppy of equal value (no cash refunds). To activate this guarantee, your puppy must undergo a vet check within 72 hours of pickup.
Yes, with a responsible alternative, we require the puppy’s return to us for rehoming (then you get your cash refunds).
